           State of Florida  }
           County of Alachua } This Indenture made this the first day
           of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hun
           =dred & sixty Seven between Mrs R.M. Roberts and R.W. Roberts
           parties of the first part, and James H. Roper party of the Second
           part, all of the County and State first above written
           Witnesseth - That the said Mrs R.M. Roberts and R.W.
           Roberts have made and delivered to the said James H. Roper
           their four certain promissory notes Subscribed with their hands and
           dated the twenty second day of December AD Eighteen hundred
           and Sixty Six, whereby the said R.M. Roberts and R.W. Roberts
           have promised to pay or cause to be paid to the said J.H.
           Roper or bearer the sum of Ten thousand dollars as
           follows to wit: Twenty five hundred dollars during January
           or February Eighteen hundred & Sixty Seven with eight per
                                      also
           cent interest from date, and^the further sum of twenty five hun
           =dred dollars payable as above during January or February Eighteen
           hundred & Sixty Seven with Eight per cent interest from date; and 
           the further sum of twenty five hundred dollars on or before
           the twenty second day of December Eighteen hundred & Sixty Seven
           with interest at Eight per cent from date; and also the further
           sum of Twenty five hundred dollars on or before the twenty second
           day of December Eighteen hundred & Sixty Eight with interest at
           the rate of Eight per cent from date = the several notes of which
           are hereunto annexed - all for value received.
             Now for and in consideration of the sum of five dollars by
           the said J.H. Roper paid at and before the sealing and delivery
           of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged as
           well as for the better securing the payment of the aforesaid
promissory notes, the said R.M. Roberts & R.W. Roberts have granted
           bargained, sold, and conveyed, and do by these presents grant
           bargain, Sell and convey unto the said J.H. Roper his heirs
           and assigns all that piece or parcel of land situate and
           being in the State and County aforesaid, and known and
           described as follows, to wit, In Section five, Township Ten south
           Range Twenty East lying South of the Town of Gainesville as
           indicated on the original plat - Commencing thirty feet South
           of the South East corner of lot, Block four (4) Range Seven (7) as
           laid down in the plat of the town of Gainesville and running
           west six chains and fourteen links to a stake; thence South
           four chains and twenty five links to a stake; thence West one chain
           and eight links to a stake on the street leading south from the
           western portion of the Court House Square to the Rail Road Thence
           South Eight chains and ninety five links to stake; thence East
           Seven chains and Ninety four links to a Stake on a Street leading
           north from the Rail Road depot to the Town of Gainesville;
           thence north thirteen chains and twenty links to the corner of
           beginning, containing nine (9) acres more or less and bounded
