to wit "Block" Six (6) Range five (5), Together with all &
Singular the tenements hereditaments & appurtinances &
all the Estate, title & interest of the said Thomas C. Standley
of the first part therein contain, And the said party
of the first part, doth hereby Covenant & agree to and with
the said parties of the Second, that at the time of the delivery
hereof the said party of the first part is the lawful owner
of the premises above granted & Signed thereof in fee Simple
absolute, and that he will warrant & defend the above granted
premises in the Quiet and Peaceable possession of the parties of
the second part, their heirs and assigns forever - In Witness

Know all Men by these presents that I
Mary H. Standley the wife of Thomas C. Standley grantor of the
foregoing Deed for the Conveyance of real estate for and in
Consideration of the Sum of One dollar paid to me by J.B.
Brown & George A. Penny at and before the ensealing & delivery of
these presents, the receipt is hereby acknowledged, do renounce
release, & relinquish unto the Said J.B. Brown & George A. Penny
all my right, claim, or equity or dower in and to the premises
by the said deed Conveyed; as fully & absolutely as I might or
could in any way do the same - In Witness whereof, I have
hereunto Set my hand & Seal this December 15th 1856

acknowledged that he executed the foregoing instrument of
writing for the purposes therein expressed, also appeared Mary
H. Standley wife of the Said Thomas C. Standley and upon exam
=ination Separate and apart from her said husband Thomas
C. Standley acknowledged that She Signed the above instrument
of writing as her relinquishment of Dower and that the Same
was done freely and Voluntarily, and without fear, Compulsion,
Constraint, apprehension or fear of or from her said husband, In
testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this
