the late John G. Rawls, to wit Commencing One
hundred & three feet (103) South of North West corner of
said Block No three (3) running Fifty five feet front and
Seventy six (76) feet back or East, said described piece or
parcel of ground only excepted, With all of the appurtin
=ances, and all of the claim, right, title, and interest of me
the said James O. Brown in and to the said premises. To
Have and to Hold the same to the said James O. Brown
Olmstead his heirs and assigns to his and their use
benefit and behoof forever, and I the said James O. Brown
covenants with the said Olmstead his heirs and assigns
that I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises; that they
are free from all encumbrances; that I have good right to
sell the same as aforesaid, and that I will warrant and
defend the same to the said Olmstead his heirs and assigns
against the lawful claims, and demands of all persons
and Mary T. Brown the wife of the said James O. Brown in
consideration of the sum of ten dollars to her in hand paid
the receipt whereof she doth hereby acknowledge hereby
releases to the said Olmstead his heirs and assigns, all her
right, title and interest in or to any dower in the afore granted
premises. In testimony whereof I the said James O. Brown
together with Mary T. Brown my wife have hereunto set our hands
and seals this twenty seventh day of February AD 1866

of the peace in and for said County personally appeared the
above named James O. Brown and Mary T. Brown his wife who
in due form of law acknowledged the above Indenture to be
their act and deed and desire that the same might be
recorded as such, The said Mary T. Brown being of full age
and by me examined separate and apart from her said
husband and the contents of the foregoing Indenture being first
made fully known to her, declared that she did voluntarily
and of her own accord and free will, Seal and as her own act
and deed, deliver the same without any coertion or compulsion
of her said husband In testimony whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this twenty seventh day of February
