sealed the foregoing deed freely and voluntarily without any fear
compulsion or dread of or from her said husband for the

This Deed made this Sixteenth day of February in the year
One thousand Eight hundred & sixty seven, between Charles W. Brush
of Baltimore City in the State of Maryland, Executor of the last will
and testament of Nemehiah Brush late of New York deceased
and John E. Hicks and James B. Brown of Alachua County State
of Florida, Where as the said Nemehiah Brush departed
this life leaving a last will and testament bearing date the

10th day of May 1843 which will has been duly proven and^now
of Record in the Clerks office of Alachua County the said
Charles W. Brush, the duly surviving Executor in said will named
under and by virtue of the power and authority vested in him
in and by said will, hath sold to the said John E. Hicks and James
B. Brown the land hereinafter described for the sum of sixteen hun
=dred dollars which sum the said Hicks & Brown have paid to the
said Brush as is hereby acknowledged - Now this Inden
ture Witnesseth that in consideration of the premises, and of
the sum of One dollar the said Charles W. Brush Executor aforesaid
doth grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said John E. Hicks
and James B. Brown, all that certain piece or parcel of land
Situate and lying within the lines of the Arredondo Grant in
Alachua County in the State of Florida, which is designated
on Burr and Washingtons map of said Grant as the North
West Quarter of Section five (5) in Township ten (10) in Range
twenty (20) containing One hundred & Sixty acres of land be the
same more or less, being a portion of the land in said grant
that belongs to the said Nemehiah Brush at the time of his decease |
