County of Alachua } Be it remembered that on this 13th
day of January 1868 before me a Justice of the peace in and
for said County personally appeared J.M. Sparkman and
Sinah Sparkman his wife and acknowledged that they
executed the foregoing Deed of mortgage for the purposes
therein mentioned, and the said Sinah Sparkman wife
as aforesaid being by me examined separate and apart
from her said husband further acknowledged that she
Signed, Sealed and delivered the same freely and volunta
rily and without any constraint apprehension or fear of or
from her said husband - In Witness whereof the said
Sinah Sparkman wife aforesaid to this her acknowled
=gement hath set her hand and seal the day and year above
written, Acknowledged, signed, sealed and delivered in
presence of the undersigned Justice of the peace

                       Know all men by these presents that
I Edguinn S. Gunnell of the County of Alachua and State of
Florida for and in consideration of the sum of Eight Hundred
dollars to me in hand paid by Eli Futch of the State and
County aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do
give grant sell and convey unto the said Eli Futch all that
tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County and
State aforesaid, and more particularly known as the South
West Quarter, and the South West Quarter of the North West Quar
=ter of Section Sixteen in Township Seven, South of Range, Nine
=teen East containing two hundred acres more or less, To Have and
to hold the same to the said Eli Futch his heirs and assigns, to
his and their use forever. And I the said Edwin S. Gunnell cove
=nant with the said Eli Futch his heirs and assigns, that I am
lawfully seized in fee of the premises that they are free from all
encumbrances, that I have a good right to sell the same as
aforesaid; and that I will warrant and defend the same to
the said Eli Futch, his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims
and demands of all persons, whatsoever, And I Jane Gunnell
the wife of Edwin S. Gunnell aforesaid in consideration of the
sum of one dollar to her in hand paid the receipt whereof
She doth hereby acknowledge, hereby releases to the said Eli
Futch, his heirs and assigns all her right title and interest to
or in any dower in the afore granted premises, In testimony whereof
I the said Edwin S. Gunnell together with Jane Gunnell my
