This agreement Entered into this 2nd day of
December 1867 between Joseph Sims of the first part
and Noah Townsend of the Second part, the Said
Joseph Sims of the first part, does agree and
affirm that the Said Noah Townsend Shall full
Control of all the Crops made on the place bought
by him and from Noah Townsend untill Said
Noah Townsend, Shall receive the full Amount
of fourteen hundred pounds of Lint Cotton, and that
the Said improvements Shall also be held responsible
untill the debt is paid that One certain little black
mare mule is also responsible for the Same and not to
be traded, accept by the Consent of parties Signed, Sealed
and delivered in presence of

Alachua County   }
                   Whereas I am desirous to carry
on the planting interest in the County of Alachua
and State of Florida for the year One Thousand
Eight Hundred and Sixty eight, on the Planta-
tion Known as "Dr Gay's place," near Archer
in said County and State and it being desi-
rous and necessary that advancements of money,
provisions, provender and other plantation and
farming supplies should be made to enable
to do so And whereas Savage & Haile, Mer-
Chants & Factors at Gainesville, Florida, have
agreed to advance for the purposes above set
forth.
Now, Know all men by these presents, that I,
John G. Beville, for and in consideration of such
advancements hereafter to be made by the said
Savage & Haile not to exceed One Thousand Dollars
