And for and in consideration of the sum of Five
to me in hand paid, the receipt of which is
hereby acknowledged, do obligate and bind my
self to deliver over to Savage & Haile all the
crops of whatever nature or description by me
cultivated, or caused to be cultivated during and
for the year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Eight,
to be by them shipped and sold for the pay-

ment of whatever may be due and owing^them
on account of said advancements, together
with all charges, commission and interest, and
the balance, after such payments are made,
to be paid over to me.
And I hereby intend and do expressly declare
that whatever may be due them for such
advancements shall create a first lien or
mortgage to secure them in the ultimate pay-
ment of their advancements -
And it is further agreed and I hereby express
ly make known that the amount of such
advancements to be made for the purposes
above mentioned shall be paid first, above
all others out of said cops.
Hereby authorizing Savage & Haile
to take and possess themselves of the cotton
and other crops as they may be gathered with-
out aid of the foreclosure of this instrument
and should a resort become necessary to
the Courts to enforce this instrument then
I agree to pay all costs, including attorneys'
charges.
