Alachua County   } This Indenture made this the
twentyeth day of February Eighteen hundred & Sixty
Eight between T.A. McDonell of the first part and
James D. Matheson & Co of the Second part. Witnesseth
that Whereas on the 18th day of Feby 1868 one T.A.
McDonell, E.M. Thompson, George A. Penny, and S.F.
Harvard, Executed their joint and Several bond by
Sealing, Signing and delivering the Same to the
Said James D. Matheson & Co, the party of the Second
Second part herein, which bond was so made
and executed to indemnify and Save harmless the
Said James D. Matheson & Co, and by said bond, them
Selves jointly and Severally in the Sum of Five hun
=dred dollars for the purposes and upon the
condition therein expressed The this Indenture
witnesseth that the Said parties herein of the first
part for the better Securing the payment of the said
Sum of Money Specified in Said bond or as much
thereof as the said James D. Matheson & Co may pay
by reason of owing the Garnishee in a Suit now pend
=ing between James Beattie and the said T.A. McDonell
with Costs of same together with interest therein and
also for and in Consideration of the Sum of One
dollar to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, do hereby bargain, Sell, and
deliver unto the said James D. Matheson for the use
of James D. Matheson & Co to him and his heirs
forever a Certain bay mare about Seven years old
Known as the property of the said T.A. McDonell
with white Spots on the rump called Sallie, The
Condition of this obligation is Such, that if the said
J.D. Matheson & Co Shall by reason of being garnished
as expressed in said bond be required to forfeit
or pay any Money or any valuable thing, and any
of the obligees or all of them Shall not upon
demand pay all monies so paid with Costs of Court
and interest then this obligation to remain in full
force and virtue, otherwise to be void and of no effect
