Haile Merchants doing business in Gainesville Alachua
County, and State of Florida for the purpose of
enabling me to carry on the planting interest for the
year One thousand Eight hundred & Sixty Eight, and
for the further consideration of the Sum of Four dollars
to me in hand paid by the Said Saragre & Haile  have
granted, bargaines, and Sold and by these [resents
do grant bargain and Sell unto the aforesaid Sarage &
Haile, all my interest in the Crops Cultivated on the
plantation in Said County and State owned by John Haile during
the year 1868, Said interest being One half of the Crop of
every Kind and description to be to be raised under my Super
=vision or that of my agent, also Eight Mules and One
Horse now in my possession and used in the Cultivation of
Said crops on the plantation of John Haile 
Provided Nevertheless that if I the Said Wm F. Jones
Shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the
Said Sarage & Haile the amount of their advancements not
to exceed the Sum of Ten thousand dollars on or before
the 31st day of Decr 1868 then this Mortgage as the said
advancements to be void, Else to be of full force and
