  Richland District         } Whereas Thomas P.
Weston of the District and State aforesaid is liable as
Surety for me on a note payable to John S. and Joseph
Betes Executors for the Sum of One hundred & Seventy
60/100 Dollars ($170 60/100) and bearing date the fourth of
January AD 1868. And Whereas also I am about to
remove to Florida, Now Know all men by these presents
that I Algemm S. Mosely in consideration of the above
and for the purpose of Securing the Said Thomas P.
Weston from loss, and Saving him harmless in the
premises, have bargained, Sold, and delivered, and
by these presents do bargain, Sell and deliver unto the
Said Thomas P. Weston his heirs Executors, administra
=tors or assigns and to each and every of them One bay
Mule about Six Years Old to have and to hold the
Said Mule unto the Said Thomas P. Weston his heirs
Executors, administrators or assigns, And I hereby
bind myself, my heirs, Executors, administrators and
assigns and each and every of them to warrant
and forever defend my right, title and interest in
and to the Said Mule unto the Said Thomas P. Weston
his heirs Executors administrators or assigns against
myself, my heirs, Executors, administrators or assigns and
all persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim
the Same. In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my
hand and affixed my seal this twenty fifth (25) day
of January in the year of our Lord One thousand

aforesaid, in consideration of the premises in the
aforesaid bill of Sale, and (for divers other Considera
=tions me thereunto moving) do hereby agree that
the Said Algemm S. Mosely, Carry the Said Mule to
Florida with him to assist him in farming or Such other
business as he may choose to carry on - Reserving to my
Self however the right and privilege of Selling or author
=izing the Sale of the Said Mule at any time, before or
after the note Set forth in the premises reaches Maturi
=ty, Should I deem Such Sale necessary and proper
