and acknowledge that the foregoing relinquishment and
renunciation of Dower was made freely and Voluntarily

This agreement made and entered into
on this 19th day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and Sixty six by and between Elizebeth Harris
of the first part, and Isam Jackson of the second part
Witnesseth That Whereas a Marriage is intended between
the said parties of the first and second part and whereas
it is agreed between the said parties that the property
belonging to each one respectively shall remain after the
marriage now contemplated and soon to be Solemized
seperate and distinct as fully to all intents and purposes
as it now is. Now therefore it is agreed that the Stock
of Cattle belonging to the party of the first part marked
with a cross & Split in one Ear and a split and underbit
in the other, also her Stock of Hogs marked in the same
manner Also one Horse named "Bill" and one Mare
named "Liza" together with the beds and Beding, household
and Kitchen furniture, and all the other personal Property
or real estate owned at this time by the party of the
first part, shall after the solemnization of the said
marriage remain the seperate and distinct property
of the party of the first part and Subject in all respects
to her own control and management as fully as though
said marriage had not been agreed upon and perfected
And it is also agreed between the said parties that all
the property now owned by the party of the second part both
real and personal shall after said marriage remain
the seperate and distinct property of the party of the
second part, It is mutually covenanted between the
said parties that in case of the death of either party
after the intended marriage shall have been
Solemized the survivor shall have no legal
Claim or equitable right to the property or any
portion thereof belonging to the Estate of the deceased |
