                   This Indenture made this the Eight
day of August in the Year One thousand Eight hundred &
Sixty Eight, between J.C. Gardner Judge of Probate of said
County & his Successors in Office of the first part & James
H. Roper of the County & State aforesaid of the Second part
Witnesseth that the Said J.C. Gardner Judge of Probate
as aforesaid for & in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty four
dollars to the Treasurer of said County in hand paid
by the said J.H. Roper the receipt whereof is hereby acknow
=ledged does by these presents give, grant, bargain, Sell &
Convey unto the Said J.H. Roper, his heirs and assigns a
a Certain lot lying and being in the Town of Gainesville, State &
County aforesaid & Known and defined on the map of said
Town of Gainesville as lot two (2) Block three (3) Range One (1)
together with all the privileges in any wise appertaining thereto
To have and to hold the above granted premises to the
Said J.H. Roper his heirs and assigns in fee Simple, and the
Said J.C. Gardner Judge of Probate & his Successors in Office
will & they Shall the said property to the said J.H. Roper
his heirs Executors & administrators forever warrant & defend
against the lawful demands of all persons whatsoever
In testimony whereof the said J.C. Gardner Judge of Probate
as aforesaid has hereunto Set his hand & Seal of Office
this the day and year above written
