Alachua County   } This Indenture made this fifth
day of September Eighteen hundred & Sixty Eight, between
Isom B. Thomas, of the State of Florida and County aforesaid
of the first part and Sarah C. Griffin of the State and County
aforesaid of the Second part, Witnesseth that the said party
of the first part for and in Consideration of the Natural
love and affection he bears the said party of the Second part
hath given granted and Conveyed, and by these presents doth
give, grant, and Convey unto the said Sarah C. Griffin all that
Certain piece or parcel of land lying in the County of Alachua and
State of Florida, Known and described as follows, to wit: the North
West Quarter of the North West quarter of Section twenty Seven Township
Eight and Range Eighteen containing thirty Seven & 38/100 acres the
North East quarter of the North East quarter Section twenty eight
Township Eight Range Eighteen containing forty acres, and the
South half of Lot Number Two in Section twenty two township Eight &
Range Eighteen containing thirty four & 57/100 acres being in all One
hundred & twelve acres more or less, to have and to hold said land
for and during her natural life and at her Death, the said land
to be equally divided amongst her children, the Said children to
take Share and Share alike and Should either of Said children
die (before their Mother) leaving children - the children of said
Child dieing are to receive the Share that he or she is to receive
under this deed, the said children or grand child (as the
case may be) of the said Sarah C. Griffin, to have and to
hold their respective Shares of said lands forever, and in fee
Simple, and the said party of the first part doth hereby
Covenant and agree with the said party of the Second part,
that at the time of the delivery hereof he is the lawful owner of the
premises above described and Seized thereof in fee Simple absolute
and that he will warrant and defend the above granted premises
in the quiet and peaceable possession of the said Sarah C.
Griffin for her natural life and to her children or grand
children (as the case may be) forever and in fee Simple
In Witness Whereof he hath hereunto Set his hand and affixed
his Seal the day and year above written --
