                   This Indenture made this 25" day of May one thousand eight
hundred and sixty eight, between James H. Roper of the County and State
aforesaid of the first part, and F.C. Johnson of said County and State of
the second part.
  Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consider=
tion of Five Hundred Dollars lawful money of the United States,
to him duly paid before the delivery hereof, hath bargained and sold
and by these presents doth grant and convey, to the said party of the sec=
ond part, his heirs and assigns forever, all that Certain piece or parcel 
of land, lying and being in the County of Alachua and State of Fla,
and which is Known and described as follows, viz: being in Section No 4
Township No 10 Range 20 East, Commencing thirty feet north of the
North East Corner of George Savage's lot and running due West Five
chaines and Fifty links to within Forty feet of said F.C. Johnson's
line, thence North Nine Chaines and fifty links to the Section line
Thence East Five chaines & fifty links to a Street running directly
North and South between W.P. Scott and D.G. Anderson on one side and
Rain McCall and others on the other side, Thence south Nine Chains
and fifty links to the beginning Bounded on the North by James Beatie
on the East by D.G. Anderson, on the South by George Savage and on
the West by F.C. Johnson, Containing nine acres more or less togeth=
er with all and singular the tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances
and all the estate, title and interest of the said party of the first part
therein
And the said party of the first part doth hereby covenant and agree
with the said party of the second part that at the time of the delivery here
of the said party of the first part is the lawful owner of the above grant=
ed premises, and seized thereoff in fee simple absolute, and that he will
warrant and defend the above granted premises in the quiet and
peaceable possession of the said party of the second part his heirs and
assigns forever, and against the Claim or Claims of any person or
persons whatsoever.
