of me the Said John B. Standley in and to the 
premises, To Have and to hold the Same with the appur-
tances unto the Said W.W. Scott his heirs and assigns
forever~ And I the said John B. Standley and my heirs
will warrant and defend the premises to the W.Wash. Scott
his heirs and assigns forever~ In Witness Whereof I the said
John B. Standley have hereunto Set my hand and affixed my
Seal this the first day of December AD 1859

                Know all men by these presents that I Penelope
L. Standley Wife of the grantor of the forgoing deed for
and in Consideration of the premises in Said deed recited
and for the further consideration of one Dollar to me in hand
paid by the Said W.W. Scott the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, have remised, released and relinquished
unto the said W.W. Scott, all my right claims or equity of
Dower in and to the premises in Said Deed Mentioned
and Conveyed as fully and absolutely as I might or could
do the same Witness my hand and seal this First day of
December A.D. 1859. Signed Sealed and delivered in

C. Caston a Justice of the peace in and for said County
Mrs. Penelope L. Standley to me well Known to be the person who
executed the above relinquishment of dower, and being examined
by me separate & apart from her said husband, she declared
and acknowledged that She had executed the same
freely and voluntarily on her part and without any constraint
Compulsion fear or apprehension of or from her Said husband
