This Indenture made and entered into this 27th day of Dec AD one
thousand eight hundred and sixty six between Joseph Thomas and his wife
Lucy Thomas both of the County Alachua and State of Florida parties of the 
first part and Frederick Kicklighter party of the second part.
     Witnesseth that the said parties of the first for and in consideration of the
sum of fifteen hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the 
second part at and before the ensealing and delivering of these presents the
receipts whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold aliened and
conveyed and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey and
confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all
the following to tract or parcel of land situated and being in the County
of Alachua and State of Florida and known and described as follows:
    The North East quarter of the North East quarter and the North West
                  North
quarter of the South East quarter and the South East quarter of the North
East quarter and the South West quarter of the South East quarter of Section
thirty five in Township seven south of range twenty two East containing
one hundred and sixty acres more or less and the West half of the lot num
bered one of the North West quarter of section two in Township eight South
of Range twenty two East containing forty acres to have and
to hold the aforesaid bargained premises together with all and singular
the rights members tenements hereditaments and appurtenances to the same
belonging unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
to their own sole and proper use benefit and behalf for ever in fee simple
and the said parties of the first part for their heirs execu
tors and administrators do hereby covenant with the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of said
premises as of fee and had good and lawful right to sell and convey
the same and that they will and their heirs executors and admin
istrators shall forever warrant and defend the title to said premises unto
the said Frederick Kicklighter party of the second part his heirs and
assigns against the claims of Joseph Thomas and Lucy Thomas his
wife and the claim of any and all persons.
    Lawfully claiming or to claim the same by virtue of these pres=
ents. In testimony whereof the said parties of the first part has
hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and
date first above written.

State of Florida  } I hereby certify that I have examined Lucy Thomas
County of Alachua } wife of the said Joseph Thomas who makes herself a party
to this deed and she acknowledges separate and apart from her said hus
band the said Joseph Thomas that she signed it for the purposes therein
expressed and also for the purposes of relinquishing and renouncing all
her right of dower to the within described Lands and that she also
agreed is of her own free will without any fear of compulsion or ap
prehension of danger on the part of her said husband the said Joseph
