hath bargained and sold, aliened, remised released conveyed
and confirmed, and by these presents doth grant bargain
sell, alien, remise, release, convey and confirm, all
that certain lot piece or parcel of land lying and being
in the Town of Gainesville, County and State aforesaid
Known & distinguished on the map or plat of said town
of Gainesville as follows to wit
        That certain piece or parcel of land situated in
Lot four (4) Block two (2) and Range three (3) bounded
and described as follows, Commencing on the N. West corner
of Lot four (4) Block and Range as aforesaid running South
Sixty feet to S West corner of said lot thence East one
hundred and forty seven (147) feet to the S West corner of
Lot owned by J.T. Mathews thence North Twenty five
feet, thence east fifty feet to public Square thence North
five (5) feet to the S East Corner of Lot owned by John
A. Mengert, thence West one hundred & fifty seven (157)
feet to S West corner of same lot thence North Thirty feet
(30) to the public Street thence West Forty (40) feet which
is the N West Corner of Lot four (4) of the Block & Range
above named containing in all Five thousand Eight
Hundred & Sixty (5860) Square feet more or less together
with all and singular the tenements heriditaments
and appurtenances and all the estate title and interest
of the said party of the first part therein as well
in law as in Equity. To have and to hold all and
singular the above mentioned & described premises together
with the appurtenances unto the said party of the
second part his heirs & assigns forever in fee simple
     and the said Jas H. Roper for himself & his heirs the
said premises in the quiet and peaceable possession
of the said party of the second part his heirs and
assigns against the said party of the first part & his
heirs and against all and every person whomsoever
lawfully claiming or to claim the same shall and
will warrant and by these presents forever defend
     In witness whereof the said party of the first
part has hereunto set his hand and seal the day
