Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that
I Mary E. Davidson Wife of James B. Davidson being seized
and possessed of certain goods, wares and Merchandise, Moneys
Chattles and effects and having Come into possession of 
the Same by purchase within the three months last past
and being desirous to employ Said goods wares and
Merchandise Moneys Chattles and effects in a general
Mercantile business to be conducted in the Town of Gaines
=ville in the County of Alachua and State of Florida, do
hereby appoint James B. Davidson (My husband) my Agent
and attorney in fact for the purposes of Carrying on and
Conducting Said General Merchandise business under
the Conditions and limitations as follows to wit:- The said
James B. Davidson is hereby empowered and fully authorized
to Sell barter exchange and dispose of all said goods
wares and Merchandise (Now in a Certain house in said
Town of Gainesville Situated on a Certain tract of land,
owned by one Joseph A.C. Jones, and lying immediately East
of the Suwannee House, and North of the Court House Square
for cash Country produce and, other articles of Value, upon
Such terms and Conditions, as to my said agent may seem
proper - To Collect the Monies, profits and proceeds arising
from Such Sales, Barters Exchanges &c, and to reinvest
the Same, by purchase of such goods wares and Merchan
=dise, as according to the list of the discretion and Judge
=ment of my said Agent, it Shall be necessary and proper
from time to time in order to Keep up Support and provide
the Stock necessary for Carrying on and conducting said
business - To pay over to me at any time, Whatever money
my said Agent may have in his possession (the profit) of said
business not required for Carrying on the same - To bind
me by signing as my Such Agent any notes, Bonds, deeds
or any Mercantile or Commercial paper, whenever in the Judge
=ment of said agent it shall be necessary so to do for the
purposes of expediting, assisting on in any wise facilitating
the Management of the said business: The same being
hereafter to be conducted under name of M.E. Davidson
and to be Known and recognized by such name - And
my said agent and attorney is hereby fully authorized and
Empowered to do and perform all and every thing, act or
deed in and about the Management, conduct and control
of said General Merchandise business, as fully and absolutely
as I Myself Might or could do if personally present
and I the said Mary E. Davidson aforesaid do hereby
fully ratify and Confirm aforesaid whatever my said agent
and attorney may lawfully do in and about the premises
