Gardner who being duly sworn says he saw the foregoing
deed signed sealed and delivered for the express uses and
purposes therein set forth - Sworn to January 23rd 1869

Alachua County   } This Indenture made this twenty ninth day
of September AD one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight Be=
tween James T. Thomas party of the first part and James B.
Brown party of the second part both of the State and County first
written witnesseth that the said party of the first for and in con=
sideration of the sum of Five hundred dollars well and truly paid
by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bar=
gained sold and conveyed and by these presents doth bargain sell and
convey unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
all that peace or Lot of Land situate, Lying and being in the Town of
Gainesville and known and distinguished in the plan of said town as
the North half of Lot (2) two in Block (3) three Range (4) four on North
side of Public square in said Town to have and to hold the same for=
ever in fee simple and the said James T. Thomas for himself his Ex=
ecutors administrators heirs and assigns said bargained premises with
all rights members and appurtenances to the same belonging shall and will
forever warrant and defend unto the said James B. Brown his heirs and
assigns from against themselves and against the claim of all other
persons whatsoever.
     In witness whereof the said party of the first part hath hereunto set
his hand and seal the day and year first written -
