and report to the meeting a corperate name and
Seal to designate the metes and bounds of the
proposed corporation and to report as to the number
of alderman to be elected on this committee the
Chair appointed Capt C.P. Crawford Messrs James
B. Brown Wm K. Cessna Thad Foster P.H. Young
George L. Barnes James Doig Theo C. Gass and Johnson
Chestnut after having retired for a short time the
committee returned and submitted the following Report
             Your Committee recommend as follows
as a corporate name - Town of Gainesville as a cor-
porate seal - A Locomotive enclosed by the corporate
name as corporate metes and bounds - The whole
of section five (5) the west half of section (4) four
the north half of the north half of section (8) eight
and the north west quarter of the north west quarter
of section (9) nine in Township (10) ten South Range (20)
East - The number of Alderman (8) eight The report
of the committee was recieved The chair on motion
then appointed Wm Strickland John OMalley and
John Bullard as mannagers of the election who being
duly sworn by the Clerk of the Circuit Court opened
the polls and the citizens proceeded to cast their
vote by ballot which election resulted as follows
