purposes of repairing and equipping the said Rail
Road, and restoring it to a condition of usefulness
has resolved to execute, issue, and dispose in the
aggregate to two Million three hundred thousand
dollars all of which Bonds bear date on the
twenty sixth day of May One thousand Eight hun
=dred and Sixty nine, and are of like tenor and in
the form following

Know All Men by these presents, That the Florida
Rail Road Company hereby acknowledge itself
to one John A. Stewart, and Frederick A. Conk
-lin, or bearer, the sum of One thousand dollars in
United States Gold Coin at par to be paid at the
Agency of the Company in the City of London England
at the option of the holder thereof, on the first day
of January Nineteen hundred, with interest on the
Said principle from the first day of July 1869, at
the rate of Seven per centum per annum in Gold
Coin as aforesaid, free from any U.S. Government
Tax, at such agency in the City of New York, or in
the City of London, on the first day of January and
July of each year, untill the said principle shall
be fully paid on the presentation of the annexed
Coupons as they respectively become due.
This Bond is one of a Series amounting in the
aggregate to Two Million and three hundred
thousand Dollars, in United States Gold Coin at
par to be paid at the Agency of the Company in
the of New York or the Sum of hundred pounds
Sterling, to be paid at an agency of said Rail
Road Company in the City of London, England,
at the option of the holder thereof on the first day
of January and consisting of Two thousand
three hundred Bonds numbered from one to Two
thousand three hundred inclusively each of
which is for One thousand Dollars and
all of which is Secured by a deed of trust or
Mortgage bearing date of the 12th day of May
1869, day executed and delivered by the Florida
Rail Road Company to John A. Stewart and
Frederick A. Conklin, Trustees, and Conveying
the Rail Road of the said Company from Fernandina
