                      Be it Known that on this 31st day of May
A.D. 1869 personally appeared before me J. Limeburner one of the subscribing
Witnesses to the above Deed who being by me duly sworn, did depose and
say that he saw James T. Soutter and John McRae, grantors in the
foregoing Instrument Sign, Seal and deliver the same, and heard them
acknowledge that they did execute it as their voluntary act and deed.

                  Sheriffs Deed.

County of Alachua }
State of Florida  }        
                    This Indenture made this 5th day July
A.D. 1869 by George L. Barnes Sheriff of County and State aforesaid
of the first part, and Samuel McGowan of Abbeville District and
State of South Carolina of the Second part, 
     Whereas, By Virtue of a writ of fieri facias, issued out 
of the Circuit Court of Alachua County and State aforesaid, and to 
the Said Sheriff directed, He was commanded that of the goods 
and chattels, lands tenements of Lewis J. Patterson he 
Cause to be made the Sum of Two Thousand Six hundred
twenty eight & 87/100 dollars $2628.87 with interest and costs of
suit, which A.D. Hilliard lately obtained: Viz in the 11th day of
May A.D. 1868 against Robert C. Patterson and Lewis J. Patterson,
And whereas by Virtue of said writ the said Sheriff did
on the 25th day of May A.D. 1869 levy upon and Seize the 
property hereinafter described, and whereas the said George L. 
Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid, did by Virtue of said writs,
and pursuant to the Statute in such Cases made and provided
duly advertize the said property for Sale, on Monday the 5th
day of July A.D. 1869 being the day of the date of these 
presents, And did on this day sell the same at public Auction
according to Law to the Said Samuel McGowan of the District
of Abbeville and State of South Carolina as aforesaid for the
Sum of Seven thousand three hundred & ten dollars ($7310-)
being the highest bidder for the Same Now therefore Know ye 
that I the said George L. Barnes as said Sheriff by virtue
of the said writs in such cases made and provided, and in 
Consideration of the said Sum of Seven thousand three
hundred & ten dollars to me paid by the Party of the second 
at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, Have granted
bargained & Sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and Sell
