This Indenture made the fifth day of October in the year
one thousand eight hundred & sixty three between J.H. Roper in
the town of Gainesville in the County of Alachua and State
of Florida of the first part & F.V. Segle of the same place of
the second part.
    Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in
consideration of the sum of One hundred & twenty five dollars
lawful money of the Confederate States of America to him
duly paid before the delivery hereof hath bargained and
sold & by these presents doth grant & convey to the said party
of the second part his heirs & assigns forever all that
certain piece or parcel of land lying & being in the County
of Alachua & State of Florida & which is known & described as
follows, to wit,
             The South East corner of lot No (28) twenty eight
of the Brush lots in the town of Gainesville Alachua
County Florida boundaries described as follows Commence
at the South East corner of said lot (No 28) & run
on the line West (208.71 feet) two hundred & eight 71/100 ft
then run North (313.065 ft) three hundred & thirteen 065/100 ft
then run East (208.71) two hundred & eight 71/100 ft then
run South (313.065 ft) three hundred & thirteen 065/100 ft to the South
             said
East corner of^lot, containing one & a half acres more or less
together with all and singular the tenements hereditaments
& appurtenances & all the estate title and interest of the
said party of the first part therein And the said party of 
the first part doth hereby covenant & agree with the said
party of the second part that at the time of the delivery
hereof the said party of the first part is the lawful owner
of the premises above granted & seized thereof in fee simple
absolute & that he will warrant & defend the above
granted premises in the quiet and peacable possession
of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
forever.
