County of Alachua } This Indenture made this the 31st day
                    of January in the year Eighteen Hundred
and Sixty seven between Isaac B. Nichols of the County of Alachua
State of Florida of the first part and John H. Kennedy of the
County of Hamilton State of Tennessee of the second part.
       Witnesseth that the said I.B. Nichols for and in consid-
eration of the sum of two thousand Dollars to him in hand
paid by the said John H. Kennedy the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged does by these presents give grant
bargain sell and convey unto the said John H. Kennedy his 
heirs and assigns a certain piece or parcel of land
lying and being situate in the town of Gainesville in
the County aforesaid and known and described as follows
Commence at the North West corner of the lot now owned by
Druick & Nigles and running North about fifty feet to the
center of a well on said lot thence East Sixty feet thence
South about fifty feet thence West sixty feet to the point
of beginning said piece a parcel of land long the middle
portion of the lot known on the map of the town as lot
one Block four (4) together with all the rights privileges 
and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise
appurtaining to have & to hold the above granted premises
to the said John H. Kennedy his heirs and assigns in
fee simple. And the said I.B. Nichols will and his heirs
Executors and administrators shall the said property to
the said John H. Kennedy his heirs Executors and ad-
ministrators forever warrant and defend against the lawful
demands of all persons whatever.
        And I Sarah Nichols wife of the said I.B. Nichols for
the consideration aforesaid and for divers other good and
valuable considerations do hereby release and quit claim
with the said John H. Kennedy his heirs Executors ad-
ministrators & assigns all my right claim or perpetuity of
Dower in or out of the afore described premises
      In testimony whereof the said I.B. Nichols & Sarah
Nichols have hereunto set our hands and seals the day
and date above written.
