lying and being in the Town of Gainesville and described
as follows To Wit Block (4) four Range (7) Seven in the
original Town of Gainesville with all the appurtenances
and the Estate title and interest of the said parties of 
the first part thereto. This Grant is intended as a security
for the payment of a certain promissory Note bearing even
date with these presents and due twelve months
after date for the sum of three hundred and ten
Dollars with Seven per cent interest in Specie or its
equivalent which payment if duly made will make this
conveyance void of no effect but if default shall be made
in the payment of the principal or interest above
mentioned or any part thereof, then the said party
of the second part and his successor or assigns are
hereby authorized to sell the premises bove granted or so
much thereof as Shall be necessary to sattisfy the amount
due with the interest cost and expences allowed by law
in such cases
   In Witness whereof the said parties of the first part
hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and
year first written

Alachua County   }  
                  Know all men by these presents that I
Geo W. Kennedy have this day bargained sold and
delivered and by these presents doth bargain, sell
and deliver unto James A. Steele, for and in
consideration of the sum of Six hundred and
fifty Dollars lawful money of the United
States, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowl-
edged, the following personal property to wit
(viz) one bay mare fourteen hand high
and Seven years old, one sorrel mare four-
teen hands high and six years old one
buggy and one hundred bushels of Corn
ten head of hogs marked underbit in
the right ear and stright split in the
left ear.
    And I do hereby warrant and defend
the title in and to the above described
