Sheriffs Deed

This Indenture made this Seventh day of February
A.D. 1870 between George L. Barnes Sheriff of said County of the first part
and Esther M. Powell of the County of Columbia State of Florida of the second
part. Witnesseth, That Whereas by Virtue of a writ of Fieri Facias issued
out of the Circuit Court for said County and to him the said Sheriff
directed He was commanded, that of the goods and chattels, lands and
tenements of W.W. Geiger deceased, he cause to be made the Sum
of Two thousand Eighty eight & 70/100 dollars, with interest thereon and
costs of suit which David L. Yulee Admr of Est of Moses E. Levy
lately on the 24th day of November A.D. 1869 in our Circuit Court against
George R. Fairbanks Snr, Executor of W.W. Geiger deceased, and whereas I,
George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of said writ, did
on the 23d day of December A.D. 1869 levy upon and Seize the
property hereinafter described, and did by Virtue of said Writs
and pursuant to the Statutes in such Case made and provided
duly advertise the said property for sale on the 7th day of February
A.D. 1870 and did on that day sell the same at public Auction
according to Law to Esther M. Powell for the sum of Five
Hundred & Seventy dollars being the highest sum bid for the
same.
Now therefore Know Ye that I the said George L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid by virtue of the said writ, and of the Statutes
in such cases, made and provided for, and in Consideration of
said sum of Five hundred and Seventy dollars to me in hand paid
by the said Esther M. Powell party of the second part, have
granted bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell unto the said Esther M. Powell, party of the
second part, her heirs and assigns forever all the property to wit,
Fractional Section Twenty two (22) and Section Twenty one (21)
and South half of East part of Section Twenty three (23) and
South half of No Ten (10) and fractional portion of Section twenty
three (23), North half of Section 27 in Township Eleven
(11) Range (20) Containing 1647 24/100 Acres more or less
also Sections Eleven (11) Thirteen (13) and fourteen (14) Township
eleven (11) Range (19) together with all the rights, tittles, interests
U.S.R. and equities which the said W.W. Geiger had of, in or to the
Stamp same. To have and to hold as fully as I, the said George L.
$1 Cancelled Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid might, could or ought to sell
and convey the same.
