                   This indenture made on the 20th day
of January AD 1870 Witnesseth That Daniel C. Hart has this day
rented fifty acres of land and sold a bay mare to Jeramiah
Taylor and Abraham Tate for which they the said Taylor and 
the said Tate have executed and delivered to the said Hart
two promissory notes bearing this date and due the 1st of November
next the one for the amount of two hundred dollars without interest
the other for one hundred and seventy five dollars with ten percent
interest from date. Now the said Jeremiah Taylor and the said Abram
Tate do hereby pledge bind and confirm to the said Daniel C. Hart
all of the produce of the aforesaid land and the bay mare
aforesaid to secure to the said Hart full payment of the
two notes described above, they the said Taylor and the said Tate
binding themselves to not sell or remove any of the above
