This indenture made and this
7 March
Sixth day of December A.D. 1870 between Geo
L. Barnes Sheriff of said County of the first part
and Joseph G. Little of the County of Alachua
State of Florida of the Second part Witnesseth,
that Whereas by Virtue of a decree ****d out of
a Court of Chancery and Signed by his Honor
Jesse H. Goss, of said County and to him the Said
Sheriff directed he was commanded that of the
goods and chattles lands and tenements of Charles
C. Stewart deceased, he cause to be made the
Sum of Seventeen hundred and fourteen Dollars
with interest thereon togather with costs of suit
which John C. Pelot, lately on the 26th day
of November A.D. 1869 recovered in our
Chancery Court against Charles C. Stewart
and Whereas I Geo L. Barnes as Sheriff as
aforesaid by virtue of said writ did on the
5th day of February A.D. 1870 levy upon and
Seize the property herein after described and did
by Virtue of said Writs and persuant to the
Statutes in Such Case mad and provided duly
advertise the Said property for Sale on the 7th
day of March A.D. 1870 and did on that day sell
the Same at public auction according to law
to Joseph G. Little for the Sum of ninety dollars
being the highest Sum bid for the Same
Now therefore Know Ye that I the said George
L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of
Said Writs and of the Statutes in such cases made
and provided for and in such consideration of
said sum of ninety Dollars to me in hand
paid by the Said Joseph G. Little party of the
Second part, have granted bargained and Sold
and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell
unto the Said Joseph G. Little, party of the
Second part his heirs and assigns forever all the fol
=lowing property to wit, = Section no (16) Sixteen
Township Nine (9) Range nineteen (19) South
and east, togather with all the rights title interest
and Equities which the Said Charles C. Stewart decd
had of, or in to the Same. To have and To hold
as fully as I the Said Geo L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid might could or ought to sell and
convey the Same Given Under my hand and Seal
this the 7th day of March A.D. 1870
