Alachua  July 28 }AD 1869
                 This Deed made on this the day and year
above written between Catharine M. Calhoun of Alachua
County Florida of the first part, and Wilkinson Cole of Duval
County Florida Witnesseth that the said Catharine M.
Calhoun for and in consideration of the payment of seven-
teen hundred Dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowl
edged according to the tenor and effect of the agreement here
to fore made hath bargained sold and conveyed - and by these
presents doth bargain, sell and convey unto the said
Wilkinson Cole, the following described tract of land situat
ed in Alachua County Florida, near the town of Archer
and known and designated as the South East quarter
of section Eight (8) Township Eleven (11) Range Eighteen
(18) containing one hundred and sixty acres (160) more or 
less, according to the public surveys, the said place being
lately occupied by the said Mrs Catharine M. Calhoun and
Elbert Baughman and the executor of this deed still oc-
cupied by them To have and hold unto the said Wilkinson Cole
his heirs and assigns forever with all the tene-
ments and rights, and appurtenances there and thereto
belonging
  And the said Catharine M. Calhoun for herself, her=
heirs executors or administrators doth covenant to and
with the said Cole, his heirs and assigns to warrant
and defend the title hereby conveyed to the said land,
against the claims of all persons lawfully claiming
the same.
        In testimony whereof she hath hereunto set her
hand and delivered this deed in the presence of

Alachua County   } Before me W.K. Cessna Clerk of the Circuit
Court for the fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida in and for
Alachua County personally came John E. Hicks, to me well
known, and acknowledged upon oath that he witnessed
the signing sealing and delivery of the foregoing deed
of conveyance and that the same was so signed sealed
and delivered for the consideration and for the pur
pose there in mentioned & set forth.
