This Indenture made the
Seventh day of March AD 1870 between
Geo L. Barnes Sheriff of said County of the first
part Witnesseth and James B. Brown
of the County of Alachua State of Florida of
the second part Witnesseth that Whereas by
Virtue of Sundry Writs of Fieri Facias issued
out of the Circuit Court for said County and
Marion County and to him the Said Sheriff
directed he was commanded that of the goods
and chattles, lands and tenements of Gilbert
L. Denton he cause to be Made the sum of
One Hundred and Thirty Six dollars with
interests thereon togather with Costs of suit
Which Geo W. Watlington lately on the 13th day
of October AD 1866 recovered against him as well
as the Sum one Hundred and forty two 75/100 dollars
with interest thereon, with costs of suits Which the
State of Florida on the 10th day of May 1867 recovered
against him as well as the sum of Three Thousand
Three Hundred and Eighty three 33/100 Dollars With
interest thereon togather with costs of suit which
N.A. Helveston admx lately on the 9th day of
May AD 1869 recovered in our Circuit Court
against Gilbert L. Denton and Whereas, I,
Geo L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by
Virtue of said Writ levy upon and Seize the
property hereinafter described, and did by
Virtue of said Writs and persuant to the
Statutes in such case made and provided
duly advertize the said property for sale
on the 7th day of March AD 1870 and did on
that day sell the same at public auction
according to Law to James B. Brown being the highest
Sum bid for the same. Now Therefore Know Ye
that I, the Said George L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid by virtue of said writs and the
Statutes in such Cases made and provided
for and in Consideration of said Sum of
Twenty five Dollars to me in hand paid by
Said James B. Brown party of the Second
part have granted, bargained and Sold
and by these presents do grant bargain and Sell
unto the Said James B. Brown party of the
Second part his heirs and assigns forever |
