This agreement made and entered into the 28" day
of May AD 1870 between W.K. Ryan & Jaquere Gee
of the one part & J.H. Stokes of the other part witnesseth that
the party of the second part for and in consid
eration hereafter named agrees to act as the agent
of the parties of the first part for their lands situated
in East Florida, to wit, Sixteen hundred and sixty six
2/3 acres lying in a body at the north West End of Orange
Lake near the town of Micanopy in Alachua County
and section 29 & 30 fractional section 19, & 20 all in
Township 11, Range 21 and East of the said town of Mica
nopy and the said parties of the first part hereby au-
thorize the party of the second part to prevent all trespas-
sing of any kind on said land or any part thereof and
to remove all trespassers on the same & to use their name
& authority in any proceeding that may be necessary to
prevent or stop said trespassing and for that purpose
to use all lawful means as fully as they or either of them
could do if personally present and the said party
of the first part in consideration of the services which
the said party of the second part may render to them
as said agent hereby agrees to permit the said party of the second part
to occupy clear and cultivate for six year from the first day
of January AD 1868 fifty acres of the said section 30, and it
is further understood & agreed between between the said parties
that the said party of the second part shall pay all the taxes
on all said lands for the said six years that he may
use any of the timber on said lands for his own pur
pose but not sell or permit the said timber to be taken
off by others and that the said party of the second part
shall have the privilege of buying the said section 30,
should the parties of the first part desire to sell the same
and at the same price and terms any other person may
offer for it & if the said party of the second part should
so purchase then the clearing or improvements he may plan
on said fifty acres shall not be considered in the price of
section 30
