County of Aalchua } This Indenture made on this twenty fourth
day of January in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight hun-
dred and fifty four between James B. Bailey and Mary N.
Bailey his wife of the first part and Wm H. Brooks W.J.
Turener and A.M. Caston president of the board Commis
sioners for the County of Alachua and their successors in
office in perpetuity of the second part Witnesseth:
That the said parties of the first part for and in Consid-
eration of the sum of two hundred and forty two dollars
& fifty Cents ($242 1/2) to them in hand paid the Receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said parties of the
first part have bargained & Sold given granted and Con-
veyed & by these presents do so bargain & sell give grant
and Convey unto the said parties of the second part and
their successors in office all that certain hereditament
or parcel of land situate in Alachua County and Known
and described as follows to wit: Beginning at the half
mile stake on the Eastern boundary line of section five (5)
of Township ten (10) of Range Twenty (20) and running west
Eighty (80) poles to a stake: from thence south fifty five
poles (55) to a stake from thence East Eighty (80) poles to a
stake on the section line: from thence East into section
four (4) of Township ten (10) of Range twenty (20) forty (40)
poles and nine feet to a stake from thence north fifteen
degrees (15°) west fifty one (51) poles and five feet to a
stake; from thence north thirteen and a half degrees (13 1/2°)
East sixty poles (60) to a stake from thence north five degrees
(5°) west twenty seven poles (27) to a stake from thence west
fifty five poles (55) six feet and Eight inches to a stake on
the section line and from thence along the section line
to the point of beginning and Containing sixty three acres
and one quarter of an acres more or less  To have and
to hold the afore granted and described premises or parcel
of land unto the County Commissioners aforesaid and to
their successors in office in perpetuity to the proper use
& behoof of the County of Alachua together with all and sin
gular the rights improvements & appurtenances to the same
belonging or in any wise appertaining  And the said parties
of the first part for themselves their heirs Executors ad
ministrators do cevenant & agree with the said County
Commissioners and their successors as aforesaid that
they are seized in fee of the afore granted premises
that they are free from all incumbrances;  That they
have good right to sell and Convey the same and that
they will and their heirs Executors and Administrators
shall warrant & defend the same unto the said
County Commissioners and their successors a**
