Sheriffs Deed
State of Florida }
County of Alachua } This Indenture made
this Fifth day of December
AD 1870 Between George L. Barnes- Sheriff of said
County of the first part, and Samuel V. Gaskins of
the County of Alachua State of Florida of the Second
part Witnesseth that Whereas by virtue of a writ of Fieri
Facias issued out of the Circuit Court in and for Marion
County, and to him the said Sheriff directed he
was Commanded that of the goods and Chattles lands and
tenements of John S. Perry he cause to be made the sum
of Seven hundred 60/100 Dollars with interest thereon
Togather with Costs of suit which Samuel V. Gaskins
lately on the 10th day of December AD 1870 recovered in our
said Circuit Court against John S. Perry and Whereas I
George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of said
writs did on the 1st day of November AD 1870 levy upon and
--------------------- Seize the property hereafter described and did by virtue
50ยข U.S. of said writs and pursuant to the Statutes in such Case
R. Stamps Made and provided did advertize the said property
Cancelled for sale on the Fifth day of December AD 1870 and did on
--------------------- that day Sell the same at Public auction according
to law to Samuel V. Gaskins for the sum of one hundred
and fifty Dollars being the highest sum bid for the same
Now Therefore Know Ye that I the Said George
L. Barnes as sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of said
writs and of the Statutes in such Case made and
provided for and in Consideration of said sum of
One Hundred & Fifty Dollars to me in hand Paid
by the said Samuel V. Gaskins party of the second part
have granted bargained sold and by these presents do grant
bargain and Sell unto the Said Samuel V. Gaskins
party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns
forever, all the following property to wit a one third Interest
in the SW1/4 of the NW1/4 and the NW1/4 of SW1/4 of Section
10 Township Ten 10 Range 22, East 1/2 of the SE1/4 Section
9 Township Ten 10 Range 22 South & East Containing One
hundred and Sixty acres more or less togather with all the rights
title interests and Equities which the said John S. Perry had of
in or to the same To Have and To Hold as fully as I the said
George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid might could or ought
to sell and Convey the same, Given under my hand and Seal
this the Fifth day of December AD 1870
