by virtue of a writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the Circuit Court for said
County and to him the said Sheriff directed he was commanded That
of the goods and chattles lands and tenements of Jacob E. and Anna
L. Dodd Executors of Samuel R. Pyles he cause to be made the sum of
Three thousand seven hundred and thirty two dollars with interest thereon
together with costs of suit which James W. McQueen lately on the 25th
day of June AD 1867 recovered in our Circuit Court against Jacob
E. & Anna L. Dodd Executors and Whereas I, Geo L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid by virtue of said writ did on the 29th day of January
AD 1870 levy upon and seized the property hereinafter described and
did by virtue of said writs and pursuant to the statues in such Case
made and provided duly advertise the said property for sale on the 7th
day of February AD 1870, and did on that day sell the same as
public auction according to law to James W. McQueen for the sum
of Two Thousand five hundred dollars and seventy five cents being
the highest sum for the same.
Now therefore know ye that I the said George L. Barnes as sheriff as
aforesaid by virtue of the said writs and of the statutes in such
cases made and provided for and in consideration of said sum of
Two Thousand and five hundred 75/00 dollars to me in hand paid by the
said James W. McQueen party of the second part have granted bar-
gained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell
unto the said James W. McQueen party of the second part his heirs and
assigns forever all the following property to wit: E1/2 of SE1/4 of NE1/4 & E1/2 of
SE1/4 of NE1/4 & the E1/2 of SE1/4 & SE1/4 of SW1/4 of section 21 & NE1/4 of section 28 &
W1/2 of NW1/4 & W1/2 of SE1/4 of section 27 W1/2 of NW1/4 & W1/2 of SW1/4 of section 22
Township 7.S Range 18.E situate in the North and West side of Townsend Branch
containing 311 44/100 acres more or less.
Also the NE1/4 of NW1/4 sec 28 SE1/4 of SW1/4 NW1/4 of SW1/4 W1/2 of SE1/4 NE1/4 NW1/4
SW1/4 of SW1/4 W1/2 of NE1/4 E1/2 of NE1/4 sec 15 T.7 Range 18 S & E containing 440 acres
Also SW1/4 of NW1/4 NE1/4 of NW1/4 S1/2 of NW1/4 NW1/4 of NE1/4 NW1/4 of NW1/4 of section
14 T. 7 R. 18 S & E. containing 240 acres more or less together with all the rights
titles interests and equities which the said Jacob E. Dodd & Anna L. Dodd
Executors or which Samuel R. Pyles their Testator had of in or to the same
To have to hold as fully as I the said George L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid might could or outh to sell and convey the same.
