Alachua County   } Whereas I have this day made and delivered to James W
McQueen my three several promissory notes in writing bearing even date with
these presents for Five hundred and eighty five 40/100 dollars Each amount-
ing in the aggregate to one Thousand Seven hundred and fifty six 20/100 dollars as
the purchase money of certain lands described in a Deed bearing Even note with
these presents Executed and delivered to me by the said James W. McQueen:
     Now know all men by these presents that I J. E. Dodd for and in Consider-
ation of the said Sum of one thousand Seven hundred and fifty six 20/100 dol-
lars and for the further and better securing the payment of the same have
granted bargained Sold and conveyed and by these presents do grant
bargain Sell and convey unto the said James W. McQueen the following
described lands situated lying and being in the County of Alachua
And State of Florida to wit: The S1/2 of SE1/4 of NE1/4 and NE1/2 of SE1/4 of
NE1/4 and the E1/4 of SE1/4 and the SE1/4 of SW1/4 of Section 31 and the NE1/4 of
Section 28 and the West1/2 of the NW1/4 and the W1/4 of SE1/4 of Section 27 and
the W1/2 [left margin: $2.00 U. S. Revenue Stamp Cancelled]
of NW1/4 and the W1/2 of SW1/4 of Section 22 Township 7 South of range 18 East
Situated in the North and West Sides of Townsend Branch and Containing
311 44/100 acres more or less: Also the NE1/4 of NW1/4 of Section 28 and the SE1/4
of SW1/4 and the NW1/4 of SW1/4 and the W1/2 of the SE1/4 and the NE1/4 and the
Section 15 Township 7 Range 18 South and East Containing 444 acres
more or less- Also the SW1/4 of NW1/4 and the NE1/4 of NW1/4 and the S1/2 of
the NW1/4 and the NW1/4 of NE1/4 and the NW1/4 of NW1/4 of Section 14 Township
7 Range 18 South and East Containing 340 acres more or less.
     To have and to hold the same to him the said James W. McQueen
his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns in fee Simple forever:  Provided nevertheless and this instrument is amde and executed upon this
Expressed Condition that if I the Said J. E. Dodd Shall well and truly or
or Cause to be paid to the Said James W McQueen the full amount of
Said promissory notes together with all interest accruing thereon according
to their legal tenor and effect also by the times and dates when they
respectively fall due Then this instrument to be null void and of no effect
Otherwise, to remain in full force and virtue.
     In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my Seal this 9th day of March AD 1871.
