County of Alachua } This Indenture made on this the third day of March in the year of our
Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and seventy between James A. Simonton and his wife Sarah
A. Simonton Benjamin W. Powell and his wife Esther M. Powell George W. Means and his
wife Mattie S. Means of the first part and David S. Brag Lucius Montgomery Benj W.
Powell Jas A. Simonton and Jacob Winecoff as Trustees of the Micanopy Presbyterian
Church of the second part Witnesseth: That for the purpose of providing for the
said Presbyterian Church a suitable place of worship as well as for the further Con-
sideration of the sum of Fifteen dollars to them in hand paid at and before the
Signing and the delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
the said parties of the first part have given granted bargained sold and delivered
and by these presents do so give grant bargain sell and deliver to the said parties
of the second part as trustees aforesaid and to their Successors in office in perpetuity
The following described parcel of land or town lot That is to Say Commencing at the
North West Corner of the Certain town lot owned by Mrs Harriet Faulkner on the
Street leading to Gainesville and running thence two hundred feet North along
Said Street to a Corner thence East one hundred and fifty feet thence two hundred feet
South and thence one hundred and fifty feet to the place of beginning and Containing three
quarters of an acre more or less in the Village of Micanopy in the County and State
aforesaid To have and to hold the above mentioned described and Conveyed
parcel of land together with all and Singular the Houses and buildings upon
the same to the said parties of the second part as trustees aforesaid and to
their successors in office in perpetuity in fee Simple forever Subject however
to the Express provision that if the said Micanopy Presbyterian Church should
fail to sustain its organization the said town lot not being previously Conveyed
by the Trustees of said Church the same together with the improvements buildings
&c all to revert to the grantors - In testimony whereof we have hereunto set
our hands and affixed our seals on the day and the year first above written,

Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents that we Mattie S. Means wife of
G.W. Means Sarah A. Simonton wife of James A. Simonton and Esther M. Powell
wife of B.W. Powell of our own free will and accord and without any fear or
Compulsion of or from our husbands became parties to the foregoing Indenture
of deed and Signed the Same with the view of renouncing our respective Dower
interest in the town lot thereby Conveyed to the Micanopy Presbyterian Church.
