being duly sworn deposeth and says that he together with James
M. Chesser saw James B. Brown and A.W. Brown sign seal and
deliver said instrument for the consideration uses and pur-

Alachua County   } This Indenture made This The fifteenth day of April
Eighteen hundred and seventy between J.M. Hawthorn of the State of Florida
and County of Alachua and E.T. Hawthorn of the same State and County
of the second part - Witnesseth that the said J.M. Hawthorn for and in
consideration of the sum of Nineteen hundred dollars to him in hand
paid by the said E.T. Hawthorn the receipt whereof is hereby acknow-
ledged does by these presents give grant bargain sell and convey
unto the said E.T. Hawthorn his heirs and assigns the following descri-
bed lands to=wit: The South East quarter of the South East quarter
and the west half of the South East quarter and the South west quarter
of section twenty two (22) and the south half of the North west quarter
and the North west quarter of the South East quarter and the south
west quarter of section twenty seven (27) in Township ten (10)
South of Range twenty two (22) East - Also the North East quarter of
the south East quarter of section twenty seven (27) Township ten (10)
Range twenty two (22) East Beginning at the north east corner of the
South East quarter of section twenty seven (27) Township ten (10)
Range twenty two (22) East Running due south one quarter of
a mile Thence due East one hundred and forty yards (140) Thence
due North one quarter of a mile and Thence to point of Commencement
containing twelve 58/100 acres - Also the North West quarter of the south
west quarter of the South west west quarter of the North West
quarter of section twenty six (26) in Township ten (10) South of Range
twenty two (22) East Except seven acres and 58/100 of an acre formerly
sold and conveyed to the Deacons of the Baptist Church known as
The Pleasant Grove Church Which Church is located upon the
before mentioned seven 58/100 acres - Also one acre more or less
known and designated as lot number two (2) where R.H. String-
fellow now resides containing Exclusive of the Eight 58/100 acres
