Know all men by these presents that we William H. Forbes and
                          named
Louis Cabot the mortgagees^in a certain mortgage dated the 6th day of
January 1868 and recorded on the 30th day of March 1868 in Alachua County
Florida 2d Book pages 121 & 122 do hereby acknowledge that we have
received from Henry B. Scott of Alachua County State of Florida the
mortgager named in said mortgage Satisfactory security in lien
thereof: and in consideration thereof we do hereby cancel and discharge
said mortgage and release and quit claim unto the said Scott
and his heirs and assigns forever the premises therein described -
also that we the said William H. Forbes and Louis Cabot mortga-
gees named in a certain mortgage of personal property dated the
seventh day of May AD 1869 and recorded June 26th 1869 in
Alachua County Florida 2d Book pages 355 & 4 do hereby acknowledge
that we have received from said Scott Satisfactory security in lieu
thereof and in consideration thereof we do hereby cancel and dis-
                    and said debt secured thereby
charge said mortgages^- Witness our hands and seals this 15th day
of December AD 1869.

of December AD 1869 before me the undersigned Samuel Jamison
a Commissioner resident in the City of Boston duly Commissioned and
qualified by the Executive authority and under the laws of the State
of Florida to take the acknowledgement of Deeds &c to be used or
recorded therein personally appeared Louis Cabot and William
H. Forbes to me known to be the persons described in and who execu-
ted the foregoing instrument by them sealed and subscribed and they
severally acknowledged the Execution thereof to be their free act
and deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned. In witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my official
seal the day and year aforesaid
