Alachua County   } Before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace personally
came J.S. Martin who being duly sworn says that he saw Joseph B.
Webb sign the above deed for the purposes therein expressed this 21st day of
January 1871.

County of Alachua } This indenture made this the fifth day of October AD one
thousand Eight hundred and seventy (1870) between Elias Earl and Mary L.
                                                               J.
Earl parties of the first part and E. Drayton Earl and Baylis^Earl
parties of the second part Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part
of the State and County aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of
six hundred dollars ($600.00) to be paid in accordance with the tenor of
three several notes signed by the said parties of the second part of the 
State and County aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
said notes being of even date with these presents hath granted bargain-
ed sold and conveyed and by these presents doth bargain grant
sell and convey unto the said parties of the second part all that
tract of land lying and being in the County of Alachua State of Florida
known and described as Lots one (1) two (2) three (3) six (6) and seven (7) of
section Four (4) Township nine Range 22 East Containing Two
hundred and three (203) acres more or less to have and to hold
the above described premises together with all and singular the 
rights and privileges immunities Easements and appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining unto the
said parties of the second part and their heirs as their abso-
lute property in fee simple forever and the said parties
of the first part for themselves their heirs and for all others
claiming by through or under them or either of them do covenant
and agree that they are seized of a good and indefeasable fee
simple to the above described premises and that they have good
right to convey the same as they have conveyed the same free and
discharged from all encumbrances and liens of any nature or de-
scription and that the said parties of the second part their heirs
or assigns shall quietly and peaceably enjoy the above described
premises against all persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the
same and that they will at any and all times make such further
covenants conveyances or assurances at the expense of said
parties of the second part as they may require. In testimony where
of the said parties of the first part have hereunto affixed their hand and seals
this the day and year above written
