Know all men by these presents that I George G. W. Helvenston of the County of
Alachua and State of Florida and in Consideration of the sum of Five Hundred dol-
lars to me in hand paid by Edward Remington of Thomasville in the State
of Georgia the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do by these
presents give grant bargain sell and Convey unto the Said Edward
Remington his heirs and assigns the following described tracts and
parcels of land situate lying and being in the said County of Alachua
and State of Florida particularly known and described according
to the maps and plats in the Land Office of the United States at New-
nansville, Florida as the South half of the South west quarter and the
west half of the northEast quarter and the north west quarter of
Section number seventeen in Township number nine South of
Range number Eighteen East Containing Three hundred and
Twenty five acres and twenty Three one hundreths of an acre
more or less together with all the priviledges and appurtenances
to the said tracts of land in any wise appertaining and belonging
to have and to hold the above granted premises to the said Edward
Remington his heirs and assigns to his and their use and behoof
forever - And of the said George G. W. Helvenston for myself
my heirs Executors and administrators in Covenant with the
said Edward Remington his heirs assigns that I am law-
fully seized in fee of the afore granted premises that they are
free from all encumbrances that I have good right to sell
and Convey the Same to the said Edward Remington and that
I will and my heirs Executors and Administrators shall warrant
and defend the same to the said Edward Remington his heirs
and assigns forever against the lawful demand of all persons
In testimony whereof I the said George G. W. Helvenston and
Charlotte my wife in token of her release of all right of dower
in the premises have hereunto Set our hands and seals this
twenty seventh day of July 1860 in the year of our Lord Eighteen
hundred and sixty.

Came Charlotte Helvenston wife of the said George G. W. Helvenston
in the above deed mentioned and being examined by me separately and
apart from her said husband acknowledges and says that she
does freely and voluntarily and without and compulsion Con-
Straint apprehension or fear of or from her said husband
testified by her Signing and Executing the above deed of Conveyance
with her said husband renounce release and forever relin-
quish unto the above named Edward Remington his heirs and |
