hereinafter described and did by virtue of said writs and pursuant
to the statutes in such case made & provided duly advertise the said
property for sale on the first day of May AD 1871 and did on that
day sell the same at public auction according to law to
Walter B. Simonton for the sum of Eighty dollars being the highest
sum for the same. Now Therefore Know ye that I the said
George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of the
said writs and of the statutes in such cases made and pro-
vided for and in consideration of said sum of Eighty dollars
to me in hand paid by the said Walter B. Simonton party of the
second part have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said Walter B.
Simonton party of the second part his heirs and assigns for-
ever all the following property to wit-: Two town lots in
Micanopy south of the Seminary buildings and East of Mrs
McCallums containing two acres also section thirty five (35)
Township Eleven (11) Range Twenty (20) of the Arredondo Grant con-
taining 640 acres less 100 acres sold on the North side of the sec-
tion Also the East half of North East quarter and the East half
of south East quarter of section Twenty Three Township ten
Range seventeen of the Arredondo Grant Also one unimproved
lot in Micanopy containing one acre known as the Cosby lot
also the south half of section twenty seven Township Eleven
Range twenty of the Arredondo Grant together with all the rights
titles interest and equities which the said James A. Simonton
had of in or to the same To have to hold as fully as I the said
George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid might could or
ought to sell and convey the same - Given under my hand
and seal this the first day of May AD 1871 -
