Sheriffs Deed
State of Florida  }
County of Alachua } This Indenture made this seventh day of February
                    AD 1870, between George L. Barnes Sheriff of said
County as the first part and John Fleming of the County of Alachua
State of Florida of the second part Witnesseth that whereas by virtue
of a writ of Fieri Facias issued out of the Circuit Court for
the County of and to him the said Sheriff directed he was
commanded, that of the goods and chattles lands and tenements
of James M. Parchman he cause to be made the sum of Two
Hundred and six 70/100 Dollars with Interest thereon togather with
cost of suit Which Robert Irwin lately on the 13th day of November
AD 1867 recovered in our Circuit Court against James M.
Parchment and Whereas I George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid
by virtue of said writ did on the 1st day of January AD 1870 levy
upon and seize the property hereinafter described and did
by virtue of said writs and pursuant to the statutes in such case
made and provided duly advertise the said property hereinafter
described for sale on the 7th day of February AD 1870 and did on
that day sell the same at Public Auction according to
law to John Fleming for the sum of Two Hundred fifteen Dollars
being the highest sum bid for the same -
Now Therefore Know ye that I the said George L. Barnes
as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of said writs and of the
Statutes of such cases made and provided for and in
consideration of said sum of Two Hundred and Fifteen Dollars
to me in hand paid by the said John Fleming party of the second
part have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell unto the said John Fleming party of the second
part his heirs and assigns forever, all the following property to wit: -
The East Half of the North East quarter of sec 29 the SE quarter of the South
East quarter of sec 20 & the south half of South West quarter
of section 21 the south east quarter of the SW1/4 of section Twenty (20)
all in Township 11, Range 18 S & E, containing Two Hundred and forty
240 acres more or less, togather with all the rights titles interests and
Equities Which the said J.M. Parchman had of in or to the same
To Have and To Hold as fully as I the said George L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid, might could, or ought to sell and convey the same
given under my hand and seal this the seventh day of February AD 1870
