                      State of Florida }
                      Alachua County   } This memorandum of Agreement made and
                      Entered into this the 19th day of April 1871 between William
                      R. Lewis of the first part and W.S. Land & S. Barnes of the
                      second part Witnesseth - That for and in Consideration of the
                      Sum of two hundred and fifty dollars the receipt Whereof
                      is hereby acknowledged the said party of the first part has
                      rented and leased unto the parties of the second part for the
                      term of one year from the date hereof the fishery known as
                      the "Sink" situated in the SW1/4 of Section 22, T10, Range
                      20, Also the fishery on the "Creek" situated in NW1/4 and SE1/4
                      of Section 27 T10, Range 20, and South 1/2 of Section 26, T10
                      R20, Situated in the State and County aforesaid Conditioned
                      as follows that the said parties of the second part shall
                      Commit no waste on the real Estate nor allow any such
                      waste Committed which they can reasonably prevent - The
                      said parties of the second part being allowed the privilege
                      of using as much timber wood &c as may be necessary
                      for their legitimate purposes but not to Cut any live tim-
                      ber on the borders of the fishery And Conditioned further
50 ยข U.S. Rec. Stamp} that the laborers and tenants on the plantations of William
  Cancelled         } W. Lewis be allowed the privilege of Catching fish with
                      hooks and lines for their own use Consumption but not
                      for market so long as they Commit no waste nor do any other
                      thing that may Conflict with the provisions of this instrument
                      And the said parties of the second part are hereby Authorized
                      to protect all Stock Cattle horses mules &c belonging to the
                      said party of the first part or to W.W. Lewis that may Come
                      within their observation - And it is further agreed that at the
                      Expiration of this lease the said parties of the second part
                      shall have preference over all others in the matter of leasing
                      for further time - Witness my hand and Seal this day and

                                   We the Subscribing witnesses to the foregoing
                      instrument Certify that on this the 29th day of April, 1871 the
                      name of J.L. Richardson was stricken out and that of
                      W.S. Land substituted therefore in our presence by Consent
                      of all parties interested.
