County of Alachua } This agreement made and Entered into
this 2d day of March 1871, between John W. Raymond party of the
first part and Peter Bailey party of the second part Witnesseth:
That the said John W. Raymond agrees to furnish Sixty acres
of land (more or less) Also Animals and tools to work
the said land and seed to plant the land That the Said
Peter Bailey agrees to furnish a sufficient number of
hands to work the said land repair the fences and keep
them in repair and plant the land in Cotton and corn
as the said John W. Raymond of his agent shall have the full
Control of the management of the Crops and gathering
the same and that the said John W. Raymond or his
agent shall have the right if the Crops are not worked
to his satisfaction to employ help at any time at the
Expense of the said Peter Bailey to work the Crops or
repair the fences or do any labor for the benefit of the
Crops or security of the same It is further agreed
that should the said Peter Bailey leave the Employ of
---------------------- the said John W. Raymond before the crops are made
50ยข US Rev Stamps and all gathered or be detected in appropriating or
Cancelled knowingly allowing any one else to appropriate any
---------------------- part of the said Crops or any part of any of the Crops of
the said John W. Raymond to his own use or to the use
of any person or persons Whatsoever then the said Peter
Bailey shall forfeit to the said John W. Raymond his Entire
interest in the Crop it is further agreed that the said Pater
Bailey shall take good Care of the Animals and tools and
all other property entrusted to his Care return the tools
or other property when Called upon so to do any if any
are missing pay for the same that he shall regularly
feed water and Curry the Animals or Cause the Same
to be done as directed by the said John W. Raymond
or his agent each day in the week Sundays not excepted
and that whenever he fails to do so the said John W.
Raymond shall be at the liberty to Cause it to be done at
the Expense of the said Peter Bailey - It is further agreed
that for the faithful performance of his part of this Con-
tract by the Said Peter Bailey he shall be paid by the
said John W. Raymond one half of the Corn and fodder
and one half of the Cotton lint the Crops to be divided
when all gathered and the Cotton ginned - It is also
agreed that the said John W. Raymond shall have
a first lien on all of the said Peter Bailey's Share of the Crops
to reimburse him for any advances he may
make during the year or for the payment of any
