Sheriff's Deed.
State of Florida }
County of Alachua } This Indenture made this fifth day
of June AD 1871, between George L. Barnes Sheriff of said
County of the first part and James C. Thrasher of the County of
Brooks State of Georgia of the second part Witnesseth,
That whereas by virtue of writ of Fieri Facias issued
out of the Circuit Court for said County and to him the said
Sheriff directed he was commanded That of the goods and
Chattels lands and tenements of Thomas W. McCaa he
Cause to be made the Sum of Three thousand and ninety
nine 66/100 dollars with interest thereon together with
Costs of Suit which James C. Thrasher lately on the 14th day
of November AD 1867 recovered in our Circuit Court
against Thos W. McCaa and whereas I George L. Barnes
as Sheriff as aforesaid by virtue of said writ did
on the 5th day of May AD 1871 levy upon and seize the
property hereinafter described and did by virtue of said
writs and pursuant to the statutes in such Case made
and provided duly advertise the said property for sale
on the fifth day of June AD 1871 and did on that day
sell the same at public Auction according to law to
James C. Thrasher for the sum of one Thousand dollars
being the highest Sum for the Same - Now therefore Know ye
that I the said George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid
by virtue of the said writs and of the statutes in such
Cases made and provided for and in Consideration of
said sum of One thousand dollars to me in hand
paid by the said James C. Thrasher party of the second
part have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said James
C. Thrasher party of the second part her heirs and
assigns forever all the following property to wit:
The Interest of Thomas W. McCaa in Sections twenty
seven (27) Twenty Eight (28) and Thirty four (34) in
Township Nine (9) Range twenty (20) South & East with
with all the improvements thereunto pertaining together with
all the rights titles interest and Equities which the said
Thos W. McCaa had of in or to the same To have to hold
as fully as I the said George L. Barnes as Sheriff
as aforesaid might could or ought to sell and
Convey the same.
Given under my hand and seal this the fifth day
of June AD 1871.
