                  This Indenture made this seventh day of August
A.D. 1871 between Geo L. Barnes Sheriff of said County of the first 
part and Cornelius Rain Sr of the County of Alachua State of Florida
of the second part Witnesseth That whereas by virtue of a writ of Fieri 
Facias issued out of the Circuit Court for said County and to him 
the said Sheriff directed he was Commanded That of the goods 
and Chattles lands and tenements of William Strickland and Isabella
Strickland he cause to be made the sum of Four thousand nine
hundred and thirty three 20/100 Dollars with interest thereon together with costs 
of suit which C. Rain Sen lately on the 24 day of December A.D. 1870 
recovered in our Circuit Court against Wm Strickland and Isabella
Strickland and Whereas I George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid by 
virtue of said writ did on the 7th day of July A.D. 1871 levy upon and 
seize the property hereinafter described and did by virtue of said 
writ and pursuant to the Statute in such case made and provided 
duly advertise the said property for sale on the 7th of August A.D.
1871 and did on that day sell the same at public auction according 
to law to C. Rain Sr for the sum of Ten Dollars being the highest 
sum for the same therefore Know ye That I the said George 
L. Barnes as Sheriff aforesaid by virtue of the said writs and 
the Statutes in such Cases made and provided for and in con-
sideration of said sum of Ten dollars to me in hand paid by the 
said C. Rain Sr party of the second part have granted bargained 
and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell 
unto the said C. Rain Sr party of the second part his heirs and 
assigns forever all the following property to wit: An undivided half inter=
est in section nine (9) and sixteen (16) in Township Ten (10) Range
Twenty S & E Containing Twelve hundred and Eighty acres (1280) more
or less with all the improvements thereon
