appears to the foregoing Certificate is and was at the date
thereof Judge of the Fifth Circuit of the State of South
Carolina and was presiding Judge in this Court for the
County of Kershaw aforesaid

 This Indenture made the 8th day of January in the
year one thousand Eight hundred and seventy Between
Edward N. Dickerson and Mary Caroline his wife party
of the first part and The Florida Land and Immi-
gration Company of Florida party of the second part
  Witnesseth That the said party of the first part
for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred
thousand dollars lawful money of the United States
of America to them in hand paid by the said parties
of the second part at or before the ensealing and delivery
of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have remised released and quit claimed and by these 
presents do remise release and quit claim unto the said
parties of the second part and to their successors and
assigns forever All the lands along the line of the
Florida Rail Road heretofore conveyed to Edward N.
Dickerson by the Trustees of the Internal Improvement
Fund of the State of Florida by deed dated June 1st
AD 1867 being about two hundred and fifty six thous=
sand acres more or less: (and all the lands along the
line of the said road heretofore conveyed to Edward
N. Dickerson by James T. Soutter and John McRae
Trustees by Deed dated June 12th 1867 being about one
hundred and sixty five thousand acres more or less:
excepting therefrom some small parcels of land heretofore
sold or covenanted to be sold or conveyed to active set-
tlers and excepting also the lands on Amelia Island
and on Cedar Keys, and the lands adjacent thereto in
Township 15 south of Range 13 East and 15 and 16 south
of Range 12 South and East.
Together with all and singular the tenements heredita-
ments and appurtenances hereunto belonging or in any wise
appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and
