Sheriff who acknowledged that he signed the fore-
going instrument for the purposes and consideration
therein set forth.

State of Florida } This Indenture made this
the seventh day of December AD 1868 by George
L. Barnes Sheriff of said County of the first part
and J.H. Roper of the County and State aforesaid
of the second part, Whereas by virtue of a writ
of fiera facia issued out of the Circuit Court
of Alachua County and to the said Sheriff deliv=
ered he was commanded that of the goods
and Chattels lands and tenements of Rosa M.
Roberds and Reuben W. Roberds he cause to be made
the sum of Eight thousand two hundred Eighty five
88/100 Dollars which J.H. Roper recovered against
R.M. and R.W. Roberds and whereas the said Sheriff
by virtue of said writs did on the first day of
November AD 1868 levy upon and Seize the property
hereinafter described and whereas the said George
L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid did by virtue
of said writs and pursuant to the Statute in such
cases made and provided, duly advertise the
said property for sale on Monday the seventh day
of December AD 1868 being the day of the date of
these presents and did on this day sell the same
at public Auction According to law to the said Jas
H. Roper of the County and State aforesaid for the
sum of Two hundred and seventy five dollars being
the highest bidder for the same
Now therefor Know Ye that I the said George L.
Barnes as said Sheriff by virtue of the said writ
in such cases made and provided and in Consid=
eration of the said Sum of $27500 to me paid by the
party of the second part have granted and sold and
by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the
said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever
all the following property to wit: Lot No one in Block two
