as Sheriff as aforesaid did by virtue of Said
writs and pursuant to the Statute in such
cases made and provided, duly advertise the
said property for sale on Monday the 7th day
of December AD 1868 being the day of the date
of these presents and did on this day sell the
same at public Auction according to law to the
said James H. Roper of the County and State
aforesaid for the sum of One thousand Eight
hundred dollars being the highest bidder for
the Same
Now therefor Know Ye that I the said Geo=
rge L. Barnes as said Sheriff by virtue of the said
writ in such cases made and provided for and
in Consideration of the said sum of One thousand
Eight hundred dollars to me paid by the party
of the second part have granted, sold and by
these presents do grant bargain and sell unto
the said party of the second part his heirs
and assigns forever all the following property
to wit: About nine acres more or less known as
the Oak Hall property now occupied by Mrs
R.M. Roberds situated south of the Town of Gain=
esville as originally surveyed levied on as the
property of Mrs R.M. Roberds together with all the
rights titles and interests of Which the said
R.M. Roberds and R.W. Roberds had in the said property
Jointly and severally And the same to hold as fully
as I the said Sheriff as aforesaid under said
writ might could or ought to sell and Convey the
same Given under my hand and seal this
the seventh day of December AD 1868
