Sherriffs Deed
State of Florida }
County of Alachua} This Indenture made this
Sixth day of December A.D. 1871 between George L. Barnes
Sheriff of said County of the first part and Sarah
A. Stringfellow of the county of Alachua and
State of Florida of the second part witnesseth:
That whereas by virtue of Decree of Foreclosure
issued out of the Circuit Court for said County
and to him the said Sheriff directed he was com-
manded that the goods and chattles lands and tenements
of William H. Stringfellow decd. he cause to be made
the sum of Five thousand and fifty two Dollars &
thirty nine cents with interest thereon together with
costs of suit which James Hemphill & Robert Hemp-
hill Executors & others lately on the 23rd day of May
A.D. 1871 recovered in our Circuit Court against Sarah
A. Stringfellow Executrix and whereas George L.
Barnes as Sheriff aforesaid by virtue of said writ
did on the first day of November A.D. 1871 levy upon
and seize the property hereinafter described and
did by virtue of said writs and pursuant to the
Statutes in such case made and provided duly
advertize the said property for sale on the 4th day
of Decber A.D. 1871 and did on that day sell the
same at public auction according to law to Sarah
A. Stringfellowo for the sum of two hundred dollars
being the highest sum for the same.
Now therefore know ye that I the said George L. Barnes
as Sheriff as foresaid by virtue of the said writs
and the Statutes in such cases made and provided
for and in consideration of said sum of Two hun-
dred dollars to me in hand paid by the said Sarah
A. Stringfellow party of the second part have granted
bargained and sold and by these presents do grant
bargain and sell unto the said Sarah A. Stringfellow
party of the second part her heirs and assigns forever
all the following property to wit West 1/2 of Section 4
Township 10 Range 19 and the S 1/2 of Sec 5 Township
10 Range 19 situated in Alachua County & State of
Florida together with all the rights titles interests and
equities which the said William H. Stringfellow
decd had of in or to the same To have to hold as fully
as I the said George L. Barnes as Sheriff as aforesaid
might could or ought to sell and convey the same.
